2009 Recognized District

By Barry Bassett

September 16, 2009

Congratulations to the students and staff of Avery Independent School District.  For the second year in a row Avery has achieved state recognized status.

TEA rates schools and districts primarily based upon the test results of the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS).  These standardized tests, administered in grades 3 thru 11, rate campuses and districts as exemplary, recognized, acceptable, and unacceptable.  These ratings are one method by which schools, parents, and communities determine the quality of education provided to their children.

Avery’s middle school and high school both received recognized ratings and the elementary campus achieved exemplary status for the second straight year.

We are proud of the hard work of staff and students, and the support of our parents and community in achieving this honor together.

Avery I.S.D. will continue the pursuit of excellence as we prepare our students for the 21st century.
